He was awarded scholarship from Haydn Sinfonietta Wien to study conducting with Manfred Huss in Vienna (2011), London Masterclasss (2012) to study with Benjamin Zander and full bursary from Orchestra of the Swan for a public masterclass with principal guest conductor, Kenneth Woods at the Two Rivers Festival in the UK(2012). Justin is a recipient of many scholarships and awards. Aboard, Justin studied with Adrain Gnam in the United States and opera conducting with Julius Kalmar in Verona, Italy and performed Mozart’s Don Giovanni with OperAverona. Justin has studied in masterclasses with Colin Metters, Peter Stark and George Hurst. He then continued studying privately with James Lowe, Mark Heron and Lionel Friend. Justin graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he studied composition and conducting. Justin held conductor positions at the Firebird Orchestra of London, Amadeus Orchestra, Chamber Academy Orchestra, Hammersmith & Fulham youth orchestra, University of Glasgow, Stirling University, the Kelvin Ensemble and the Glasgow Contemporary Music Ensemble. He is also much in demand as a conductor of youth orchestras, he currently holds the principal conductor position of North Hertfordshire Youth Orchestra, Kingston Youth Orchestra, Kingston Training Orchestra, New Generation Orchestra & Young People Orchestra of London, Royston Youth String Orchestra and Royston Concert Band. British -Chinese conductor Justin Fung is the Music Director of Opéra les Fauves, Principal Conductor of the Swinsian Ensemble and the Musical Director of New College of the Humanities Chamber Choir of London.
